Chapter 185: Obstruction
update icon Updated at 2025/6/20 11:10:13

The night enveloped the earth, and the moon was high up in the sky.

Liran Day and Lilia placed Iris on the bed. Blood continued to flow from Iris's chest, her lips turned pale, devoid of any vitality, as if she was on the brink of death.

"You must not let the news of Iris's capture leak out, otherwise, I will annihilate you all." Lilia's voice was cold and resolute.

"Yes, ma'am!" Degu and the Shadow Guards said in unison, their hearts full of fear for Lilia.

"Well then, you may leave." Lilia nodded.

Degu and the Shadow Guards quickly left as instructed.

"Shouldn't we remove the spear from Iris's chest?" Lilia asked.

"Not yet. We must first bind Iris, or else the Demon Emperor will immediately heal her and use her body, causing unnecessary trouble for us." Liran Day shook his head and said to Lilia.

Hearing this, Lilia nodded. After all, she didn't understand demons, and Iris had the Demon Emperor inside her, the king who commanded the demons.

Silu Cold landed softly on the ground, but was immediately surrounded by the Shadow Guards.

The nerves of the Shadow Guards tensed up instantly, and they drew weapons from their waist, pointing them at Silu Cold.

"What do you want to do?" Silu Cold frowned.

"Let her in." Lilia's voice came from inside the room.

Upon hearing this, the Shadow Guards immediately put down their weapons and allowed Silu Cold to enter the bedroom.

Silu Cold stepped into the room and glanced around before noticing Iris on the bed.

"Silu Cold, give me your sword." Liran Day spoke up.

Silu Cold immediately summoned her weapon and handed it to Liran Day.

Liran Day took the weapon from Silu Cold's hand and looked at Iris lying on the bed.

He then used the power of the sequence to convert Silu Cold's weapon into four needle-like objects.

"What are you doing with my weapon?? What for??" Silu Cold was surprised and didn't understand what Liran Day was doing.

Ignoring Silu Cold, Liran Day infused the power of the sequence into the four needle-like objects, causing them to emit a dazzling golden glow that illuminated the surroundings.

She then pierced Iris's limbs with the four needle-like objects, firmly immobilizing her body on the bed.

Silu Cold felt pleased seeing Liran Day's actions.

She enjoyed seeing Iris being tortured, but unfortunately, Iris was unconscious, otherwise she could hear her screams of agony.

After all, Silu Cold had suffered quite a bit under Iris's hands, and had developed some personal feelings towards her.

She glanced at Lilia and said, "No need to prepare healing magic, someone will help heal Iris's injuries."

Lilia couldn't help but feel puzzled and asked, "Who will save her? Her current condition is dangerous."

"Hehe, you don't need to worry about that. She will recover soon enough." Silu Cold laughed.

Lilia stopped asking further questions. Since Silu Cold said so, she must have her reasons.

Then Liran Day removed the holy spear from Iris's chest, and a black flame ignited, continuously healing Iris's body.

Chaos opened her eyes, her pupils radiating a strange red color. She glanced around, seeing herself pinned to the bed without struggling.

"Angelic Warrior, I didn't expect you to awaken so quickly. No wonder Qizhou and Shizhi couldn't protect this little one." Chaos looked at Sier with indifference and said lightly.

The low voice attracted Lilia's attention, and she immediately turned to look at Chaos.

"Is it you who has something to do with my mother's death?" Lilia's eyes flickered coldly as she asked Chaos.

Chaos closed her eyes and remained silent for a moment before saying indifferently, "Yes."

"You..." Lilia's pretty face instantly turned fierce, and a surge of anger rushed to her head.

"Sister, you have to stay calm, otherwise things will go bad." Liran Day immediately grabbed Lilia's arm and whispered to comfort her.

Lilia took a deep breath, suppressing her anger.

The game is now out of chaos's control. If Iris continues to bear this blame, she may be executed, and chaos will also die.

"It's related, but not entirely," Chaos spoke again, his voice calm, leaving no clue as to his true thoughts.

"What do you mean?" Lilya asked coldly.

"I presume you have already found the dark red corner of your mother's body. Four years ago, I discovered that your mother's organs were failing. Organ failure is an incurable condition, and death is inevitable. The dark red corner helps your mother not feel the pain of organ failure and allows her to live as a normal vampire in the coming days.

But over time, this organ will decay and eventually wither, leading to complete organ failure. I can only say that your mother died without pain, and I did nothing harmful to her," Chaos slowly explained.

Lilya was shocked by these words. How could this be?

"Believe it or not, this is the truth. So, I did not kill your mother," Chaos said and disappeared, giving control back to Iris. Chaos fell asleep once again, waiting for the next opportunity, uncertain of how long it would take to awaken.

Lilya looked at Iris lying on the bed, feeling guilty in her heart.

If what Chaos said is true, then Iris is innocent. Even though Chaos manipulated things behind the scenes, it all ultimately happened because Lilya failed to notice the condition of her mother's body and didn't give Iris a chance to explain.

"Liran Day, do you have any way to remove the Emperor of Demons from Iris's body?" Lilya asked.

Before Liran Day could speak, Silu Cold, who was standing by, said, "It cannot be removed. If Chaos is expelled, he will disappear, and it will take thousands or even more years for him to recover. Without the help of demons, angels cannot defeat the barbarians. Furthermore, the Angel King has not yet awakened and is lacking the presence of the dragon clan. Without demons, there is no hope of defeating the barbarians."

Hearing Silu Cold's words, Lilya couldn't help but worry. If the Emperor of Demons remains in Iris's body, what if Iris is controlled and her soul is completely erased? That would be disastrous.

Liran Day saw her sister's concerns and spoke, "As Silu Cold said, the Emperor of Demons cannot be killed, but I can block their connection. At the same time, Iris will no longer be able to use any magic."

"Blocking the connection is necessary. Who knows what tricks the Emperor of Demons might use to disrupt your mother-daughter relationship," Silu Cold added.

"But...Lilya hesitated.

"Enough with the hesitations. The decision has been made," Silu Cold interrupted Lilya and said.

"I understand," Lilya clenched her teeth, feeling extremely guilty towards Iris. Cutting off her right hand before, and now sealing her magic, how should she face Iris?

Liran Day transformed her versatile holy spear into a golden collar and placed it around Iris's neck. Then, she removed each needle-shaped object from Iris's limbs.

Blood gushed out, staining the sheets.

Liran Day restored her weapon to its original form and returned it to Silu Cold.

"Sister, we're done," Liran Day said softly.

Then, she led Silu Cold out of the bedroom. She knew her sister felt guilty towards Iris, so she would leave it to her sister from now on.

After Silu Cold left with Liran Day, Lilya's gaze turned to Iris lying on the bed.

She took out disinfectant and sterilized all of Iris's wounds before applying ointment and bandaging them.

Then, Lilya personally prepared a basin of hot water and washed Iris's body.

Her movements were gentle, as if afraid of hurting Iris.

Seeing Iris's black and red right hand, Lilya's guilt deepened, but she didn't know how to make it up to her.

All Lilya could do was use a warm towel to wipe off the bloodstains on Iris's right hand.

Lilia whispered as she wiped, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have cut off your hand. If I hadn't cut off your hand, you wouldn't have ended up like this. It's all because of my foolishness...that your hand has become like this."

As Lilia spoke, tears welled up in her eyes, sparkling and clear.

She dipped a cotton swab into hot water and gently wiped it on the back of Iris's hand.

Once she finished wiping Iris's hand completely, Lilia sat on the edge of the bed, gazing at Iris's weary and pale face, until the sky gradually brightened.
