The next morning, snow was falling lightly, with a hint of dampness in the air. A layer of frost still floated in the sky.
Children stood on the snow-covered ground, stretching their limbs, watching the drifting snowflakes. Excitement sparkled in their eyes. They were dressed in thick cotton coats, wore thick boots on their feet, and their cheeks were red from the cold. However, they still looked at the snowflakes with joy. In the snow, they were like flowers blooming in the ice and snow.
"Look at me!"
A boy of about ten years old jumped up, reaching out and grabbing a handful of snow. With a sudden pull, the snowflakes immediately turned into pieces and floated down from the sky, landing in the boy's palm. He threw the snowflakes onto the ground, and as soon as they touched the ground, they were immediately eroded by the cold air, turning into a pool of water.
"Ah ha! So fun!" The boy exclaimed, picking up the snowflake again and throwing it at his friend next to him.
"Look at my snowball."
"Look at my ice block."
Several children rushed forward to grab them, and for a while, the snowflakes scattered and the ice chips flew.
A group of children played and pounced into the snow pile, quickly turning it into snowmen.
"Frege, your ice magic is getting stronger again!!!" A petite girl looked at the scene in front of her with admiration.
"What's so great about that?" Frege proudly lifted his chin. "I'm going to become a forbidden mage, you know."
"Come on, Frege, you can count the number of people who have become forbidden mages on your fingers throughout history." Another boy said.
"Humph! Just wait until I become a forbidden mage, then you'll look up to me." Frege snorted.
"We'll see!"
"Alright! Let's see who's more powerful then!"
Frege and the other children started arguing, quarreling over who would become a forbidden mage.
Children are always the most innocent, without any impurities.
As they watched the arguing crowd, the elderly veterans of the White Stork Empire smiled knowingly, their eyes filled with love.
They were retired military mages of the White Stork Empire, and they had done everything for the country, the people, and the future of the empire. They were also here to protect these innocent and lively children.
Xingli was sitting in the library, looking at books about making vampire cuisine. Human food didn't suit Night White's taste, and Xingli wanted to make some vampire food for him before he left.
During Night White's escape, he probably only had the blood of some monsters to feed on. Maybe Little White had been bitten by Night White.
After all, vampires can only replenish their bodies with blood. Little White was a beast, and could go without food for a week or even longer. Xingli wondered what it would feel like to be bitten by Night White...
Suddenly, this thought came to Xingli's mind, making her blush. She shook her head and scolded herself inwardly, "Xingli, what are you thinking!"
With her head lowered, Xingli looked carefully at the books, hoping to find the techniques and methods for making vampire food.
"Xingli, good morning." Donahue approached Xingli with a sunny smile and said softly. (Character appears in Chapter 98)
Xingli looked up in surprise at Donahue and said, "You seem to be in a good mood! It looks like you've come out of the shadows."
Donahue nodded.
As for why the two knew each other, Xingli was the school flower of Tian Du Academy, which was recognized by the entire school.
Donahue was originally a student in Class 21 of the first grade, but when he heard the news of Night White's death, he felt that staying in Class 21 was meaningless, so he chose to quit.
The news spread quickly, and almost the entire first grade knew that Donahue had quit Class 21, but no one knew why he did so.
Donahue was supposed to be a dead man, but the princess gave him a new lease on life, for which he could not repay.
Now that the princess has become a wanted criminal, he doesn't care. At least with this wanted order, the princess is safe for now.
It has been three months since the princess disappeared, but Donahue has always had the feeling that Xingli has something to do with the princess. That day, when the princess was in disguise, he happened to be present and overheard Xingli's conversation with others.Donaldson couldn't help but ask curiously when he saw Xingli researching the food of the vampire clan, "Xingli, why are you studying the food of the vampire clan?"
Xingli hesitated a bit. She couldn't possibly tell Donaldson that Night White was a vampire and living in her house.
Before Xingli could answer, Donaldson said, "Starting with the food of the vampire clan is indeed a good choice. In case of a war, we can sneak in and poison them with a dark meal."
"Um...that's right!" Xingli quickly agreed. She hadn't expected that her research on vampire food would be seen by Donaldson as a means to poison them.
Donaldson was just giving Xingli an excuse, and he knew in his heart where Princess Iris was currently staying. He suspected that Xingli also knew about Night White being Iris, otherwise she wouldn't be researching vampire food.
"Xingli, the books won't have very detailed records of vampire cuisine. This itself is the vampire food, what we humans record can only scratch the surface."
Then, Donaldson wrote a foolproof recipe and handed it to Xingli. "Just follow this recipe."
"This recipe..."
The two glanced at each other, instantly understanding what they were hiding from each other.
After Xingli tidied everything up, she left the library. Donaldson was quite happy in his heart. In his mind, Princess Iris would always be the princess, even if she became a wanted criminal, he would still be loyal to her.
After leaving the library, Xingli headed towards the direction of the hospital. She bought some ingredients from the recipe and returned home to make a delicious meal for Night White.
That's how Xingli kept herself busy until noon, when she brought the food to Night White's door.
"Knock knock!"
"Knock knock!"
After a while, there was no response from inside. Xingli furrowed her brows slightly and kept knocking on the door, "Night White, are you there?"
The door continued to stay silent.
Afterwards, she used a spare key to open the door.
"Creak!"
The moment the door opened, the room was clean and tidy.
There was a letter on the table, and Xingli walked up to it and opened the envelope. The letter contained a paragraph of text.
"Xingli, when you read this letter, I'll have already left. Forgive me for leaving without saying goodbye.
After all, you know my identity, and if it's discovered, it will bring trouble to your family. These days have been troublesome, and there's compensation for you under the pillow. Please take care of Rhea, let her have a place to stay.
If I'm still alive, I'll come find you in two years."
After reading Night White's letter, Xingli felt a bit lost. She burned the letter with fire. Xingli was a bit reluctant to let Night White leave, but she quickly adjusted her mentality.
"Night White, I hope you're safe."
Then, Xingli disposed of the vampire food.
